Confronting Exponential Change

Over the last five years or so I have observed an increasing political polarization in the United States, just as I suspect most people have as well. Throughout the last six months or so it has become obvious to me that this trend is increasing exponentially. It appears as if the United States, a country that use to be revered by most, is trapped in a toxic relationship. America use to be the land of opportunity where the hardworking dreamed of achieving that lifestyle with the suburban house, white picket fence, and a family to live there. We have strayed far from this vision. Today, we look more like a drunken domestic dispute call you might watch on TV. Do you know what I am talking about? The police pull in with the camera crew and a shirtless husband is sitting on the porch finishing a bottle of whisky while the wife is waiting in the living room smoking a cigarette demanding the police make the husband leave. In other words, we’ve gone downhill. Our nation is capable of salvaging itself but we must take action now to revert back to our founding principles.

I have decided to do my part to restore traditional American values. I am beginning to make intentional changes to my personal, business, social, and all facets of my life. One way I will do this is by changing the way I format my blog. Previously I have simply written opinion pieces on current events. However, I have come to realize that in doing this I am not just feeding the problem; I am part of the problem. There are hundreds, perhaps thousands of blogs, podcasts, and television shows that express opinion just to prove their side is right and the other side is wrong. If that is the content you want, then go find it elsewhere.

From this point forward I am excited to begin the process of transforming the method of which I write pieces for my blog. My goal will be to build bridges between political divisions. I refuse to continue to contribute to the destruction of the country I love so much. My mission will be to promote traditional American values through civil discourse, objective information, and logical reasoning.

I look forward to embarking on the journey that lies ahead together as one nation.  E Pluribus Unum.
